OVERSPEED

What is Overspeed?

Overspeed is when an athlete moves his or her body or parts at higher than normal competitive speeds. An Overspeed workout requires players to skate at speeds  8-13 percent faster than they are capable of.   Overspeed is an on ice training method which is designed to keep athletes feet in constant motion at a 100% work load on their legs, using crossovers, pivots, and half pivots.   This consists of both forward and backward skating.

Why Overspeed?

Overspeed forces dedicated athletes to be pushed outside their comfort level by repetitive crossovers to attain maximum speed and co-ordination resulting in peak performance!
Overspeed is not for everyone.  It is very challenging as your legs take a heavy work load in a very short amount of time. This type of training is for dedicated hockey players only!
